In most offshore exploration wells the entire section of open hole will be logged, which in this case is about 750m (13 3/8" casing shoe at 1,800m to just above the over-pressured formation at 2,568m). Typically, there will be 2-3 runs of different combinations of logging tools at a speed of about 1,800 ft/hr (549m/hr), so with rig up / down, run-in-hole, calibration etc we're talking about 3-5 hours per run. Logging speed is usually constant over the entire interval, though in some cases the tools may be slowed down over the zones of interest for increased accuracy.
In this case ENI is planning to pressure test and sample the formation fluid in the zones of interest. Depending on the number of zones to be tested and the time it takes for the pressure to stabilise, this can take from a few hours to a day or more.
And that's if the tool doesn't get stuck...
