It's more than just marketing. They do need help with that. But KAR is also hit by a trading program that consistently works the price down. What they also need to do is hire a broker company to stand guard and take those false sells they post. Once they know they can't play in this sand pit anymore they move on.
Ever notice how before and during a cash raising there isn't any fooling around with the share price in the down ward spiral? It's because part of the underwriters job is to prevent that from happening. That's why as soon as the cash raising was completed and the villans saw the coast was clear from the big brother watching over us, they started messing with us again and down we go. It doesn't take much to stop them, but you do have to take action to stop them.
