Drafter, according to some sources there are over 700 gene therapy clinical trials on foot. I don't think this one requires any more attention to detail than any of these others.
I am with Max on this issue. If management is going to release information on timetables for the pipeline then the info should be more accurate. I cannot remember when BLT has ever met a target date. This just makes management seem like they don't know what they are doing and sophisticated investors will continue to judge them badly until they fix this problem.
As I see it there are two problems: one is project management needs to improve, and the second is communication to shareholders needs to improve when things don't go according to plan. It is management that sets expectations, not shareholders, and it should be management that explains why those expectations have not been met.
We all know about the risks of biotech and we all know about "forward looking statements". This is not the issue. The issue is how to communicate changing circumstances to shareholders.
