Some people might might prefer to pay $2.50 now for 1000 shares, use remaining money in other investments and then wait 18 months to decide if the option is worth taking on the other 1000 shares?

How do you calculate the value of that choice?

Further what does the calculation look like if something terrible happens globally, and the share price drops to say $0.80 say from global oversupply of copper and excessive dilution through cdu capital raising for the two choices ?

How do you value the loss for 2000 shares bought at 2.06 v 1000 shares @ 2.50 ? what value do you place on delaying the choice to buy the remaining shares via option ?
