They have a list of stocks can't short, I am yet to find any short opportunities that I have been forbidden from shorting. The contract sizes are 1 for 1 on the stocks, it is only when you are trading currencies and index's that you have your larger contract sizes (although they now have mini contract sizes). I am not sure about the minimum you can trade but I know from a previous mistake that you can trade as little as $600 worth. It may even be as little as 1 share.
Brokerage is 0.1% for Aussie shares, FTSE 100 shares and Euro shares. For US shares it is 2 cents per share
