Amazon's meteoric revenue rise in Australia
Amazon Web Services (AWS) went from a virtual standing start to $25 million in revenues in the year of its launch in Australia, ASIC documents reveal.
The data, which covers the 2012 calendar year, has only just been made available by the corporate regulator.
The 2012 full-year results for Amazon Corporate Services Pty Ltd show the company grew from a $1.3 million business in the six months to 31 December 2011 to a $25.7 million business for the full calendar year to 31 December 2012.
The company posted a full-year net profit of $722,053.
