Every time someone points out the horrors or contradictions in the Bible we are told that it's a 'misunderstanding' or we're "taking it out of context." I recently had a long conversation with a pastor who was honest enough to admit that the biggest problem Christianity has are the scriptures themselves. He's given up trying to justify why God sent 2 bears to rip up 42 children just for calling the prophet Elijah "Baldy". Read about Moses and the Midianites. I'm sure you can come up some justification for the Genocidal, Infanticidal, pack-rape of an entire people. It will be a very weak justification, but as long as you can come up with something, anything, that makes it seem OK, I'm sure you'll run with it.
