Interesting post MGR (as always). The correct answer to your question is in para 2 though - not in your conclusion. Yes, the market"s returns have been extremely narrowly-based. And that's the point. If any brain dead fund (I work in investment banking and I think I'm amply qualified to say that most are brain dead, if indeed they possess one) can get a risk-free return of 40%p.a on a bank stock, then on what basis would they invest in a spec stock - even one as good as NEN? The answer of course is that they won't. The same thesis holds for the rest of the stocks comprising the market's returns at the moment. The lower end of the market won't move until the easy gains stop, and that's not likely for a few more months. Eventually the rotation will happen. No amount of PR is going to change that - although some definitive results will help.
For what it's worth there's too much anxiety on this board of late for the Big Bang. It just doesn't happen that way. It's going to be a long(er) slow(er) grind. Even Hardman (which is frequently bandied about) took quite some time after the first result to play out. I have everything crossed for this one (and way too much invested).

P.S I enjoy your posts. There's a bit of revivalist prayer meeting about them which I find entertaining (please don't take that the wrong way).
