groundzero, I understand what you are saying, of course I would emotionally want to ruin anyone who raped my daughter, but that is an emotional response, and an understandable one. I should not - and would not - be allowed to kill them. If we go down the line of killing our own species (as we seem to be) we are self-destructive. Compassion is also part of our nature. Putting someone behind bars for life is probably a good deal more painful than death anyway.
