This thread seems to be focusing on faith, with the assumption being that faith is a good thing. Faith is what every successful con-artist needs from his victims in order to succeed. If I don't have faith in the guy from Nigeria who wrote me a letter, then he can't succeed.
Have you ever asked yourself whether or not you actual desire the promise of eternal life? Wouldn't it get a bit boring? Particularly towards the end?
