Its finite in the sense that there is a limit to how much Gold there is in resource, however they say there is about 10 billion ounces in existence, give or take.
What if I find a resource tomorrow where there lies 10 Bln ounces of gold, which is not probable, but possible.
So you see even though Gold can be seen as "finite", noone really knows how much is left to find so the finite part is kind of irrelevant, imo.
