re: singapore's banjar, how the hell do you (as Towie suggests) "work with the system" when that system is totally intolerant of oposing views, totally oppressive, damned near totally corrupt, controls media, judiciary, army, traffic lights and chewing matter in people's mouths?
How do you "work" with your enemy when your enemy has frightening guns pointed at you and you have only but a voice which with the slightest of unwanted sigh or remark get chopped at the throat?
I haven't yet finished my research on Singapore -today's or yesterday's but so far, I see an abyss of abuse and totalitarian cronyism, barbaric treatment of the powerless by the powerful and an abysmal lack of justice.
They've got the laws all right but they're Stalinist laws which bare no relationship to justice.
So far, my view is that Singapore's goven't, like that of Indonesia and many other primitive govnt's, stinks.
