re: tls look out! voip to hit mass market shelves Engin (eng)

(a) What would Mr. Philip Fisher (big acknowledged influence on Mr. W. Buffett ....., and author of: 'Common Equities and Uncommon Profits' and adherent of the survey retailers and suppliers thesis ...... suggest, 'vis-a-vis' a potential excellent investment such as Engin (eng) ....?

(b) What would Mr. Philip Lynch, famed Fund Manager of the Magellan Fund, and author of: ..... 'One Up on Wall Street'. ....... suggest: 'vis-à-vis' a potential excellent investment such as Engin (eng)... ?

They would, IMO …… speak to various Store Mangers, and Store salespersons, at as many of the various Retail Outlets about what their experience with engin (eng) has been, and is now currently.....

That means, that they would advise, to talk to various franchise managers, at Tandy and firms like Harvey Norman and Domayne ...... and also to store sales people. " on ... the ground ....at Harris Technology, Big W, Myer, Office Works and other retailers such as D D. Smith’s (Woolworths owned ....

They would ask at least the following questions:

(1) Of all the current VOIP Boxes you sell, (and there at about 3 or 4 now to choose from ... Which VOIP Box, is the Best seller and do you find is the most popular now and over the last few months.... ?

(2) Of the engin (eng) Boxes you sell, here at D. Smith (etc etc) and sell, how many have been returned by dissatisfied customers, for whatever reason..... ?

(3) Do you, as a Sales person, currently working here on the floor now, selling VOIP boxes think there is a good future for engin, or not ...... ? Why...? Why not?

So fellow investors, there is a suggestion using either the Philip Lynch or Philip Fisher (Warren Buffett) methodology to ascertain likely success or otherwise.....

Just for record, I have already done the Survey Questionnaire and asked the above questions of Salespeople at Tandy, D. Smith, Harvey Norman, Office Works, Harris Technology, Big W, Office Works, and Domayne .... over two separate occasions…..

One survey was conducted a few days ago.

The other survey was two weeks ago. One survey was on a Friday.

The other survey was on a Tuesday.

The 'Answers' -- to the questions on both occasions and consistently, across all stores, was as follows:

To ...... Question (1) -- Answer: engin by a winning ratio of 3 or 4 to 1 .

To ..... Question (2) -- Answer: Nil returns.

To ...... Question (3) -- Definitely "yes" ....... a Big successful Future.

(3b) -- Why question: Answer: " Because of Clear strong Customer Demand Preference for engin over any of alternatives. , and also from the far superior, 'Point- of- Sale'--- and pre Sales Distribution and Merchandising support from engin compared to the alternatives. The alternatives frankly do not even really rate, ...." -- was the typical retailer salesperson response.

Anyway, here is a challenge: Try doing the same Real Customer Demand surveys yourselves !!
