Just some titbits which may not have been covered by other posters reporting from the AGM.
The mill scale for the current trials were supplied by CMC https://www.cmc.com/en/australia/Pages/home.aspx
EPA is allowing the plant to operate up to 1,000 tonnes of Iron. The permission to move to full capacity will be very quick, once the proper measurements of emissions have been confirmed to comply with regulations. MT is very confident that this will pose no problem at all. So, there should be no or very little delay going to full capacity once the process has been Ok’d.
Orica is supplying the Pickle Liquor and will receive the 25% acid back. http://www.orica.com
Orica and APG are in talks regarding a licensing co-operation.
The US market will be the focus for selling licenses into, as other markets especially China do not respect the IP.
In regards to sourcing mill scale for the plant;
Clean mill scale currently costs $70 by the tonne. APG’s focus is on ‘crappy’ mill scale, which companies have to pay up to $2,000 per tonne to get rid of. This includes the by-product of galvanising processes. Hence, APG may be paid to take it off their hands and in addition will be able to sell the output from the processed mill scale, in the form of 25% acid and iron pellets. That could be quite a profitable enterprise.
A one on one with MT revealed a very excited MD. He really does believe 2014 will be the year when it all comes together.
Having been around for a while and with MT’s age in consideration I asked him about his health. The response, which I do not doubt for a minute, was “Excellent”.
Cheers,
IHS
