I sent Rob Neely a few questions regarding the recent MMA tweets.
Here is his response.



Hi XXXXX,

Always happy to answer your questions, sorry for the delay in replying.

What we have done for the commercial dairy that we are now getting months of data out of is -

1. We have put in one of the formulations that we have under patent into the feed formulation for the entire herd. So every cow (700+) is getting a set amount of the MMA TPM® formulation.

Secondly we provided the farmer or more importantly he purchased the hi level formula that we used in the trials three years ago and that is now plumbed into his dairy and the software now emits a dose into the cows feed if its required as the cow presents to be milked.

Between the 2 applications we have seen some astonishing results, and we now have 4 months of data on both and its providing a compelling story. The results are far better than the successful first trials in 2010/11 provided as the sample size is much bigger. As we suggested the other day, apart from all the normal indicators showing an excellent improvement ie yields of milk, fat and protein and the consequential lowering of SCC making the milk more valuable, we have seen a dramatic drop in the use of on farm antibiotics. I think we used the term significant then and that is not overstating the result.

On top of that I have now altered the prophylactic formula to add a neutraceutcal active that is known to assist in fertility, we are now in the second commercial phase with this new formula and will have results shortly (ie during the next 8 weeks). In simple terms increasing fertility means the farmer saves money on repeated AI, and gets his cows back into milk far quicker which again adds to the allure of this POH - MMA developed technology.

We can’t at this time give up the finer details as we are preparing a Press Release for the industry and we do not wish to pre-empt the excitement we suspect this will generate. However as I said before this is a compelling story now, and as such we are now gearing up with suitably qualified people to commercialise this after 3 long years of work and enormous amounts of money thrown at it on our behalf. We have recently appointed a GM who is an Animal Geneticist and has run some of the biggest milk labs in Australia, we will also make that announcement in the Press Release, however he is already talking with the major dairy feed manufacturers in Aust and NZ regarding the new formulas.

All things are pointing to a very bright future for both MMA and the TPM® technology that we have jointly developed.
