attached are body fat suggestions for males and females of different ages:-
somewhere on the net, it was mentioned that bodyfat readings from scales tend to understate the fat content - so watso just uses the figures as a guide - ie heading in the right direction.
choice compared several scales (including accuracy)

for what it is worth, but watso has the modern living ef138-21 (as described by choice) - now sold as bellini ef138-21 - on sale at target this week for $35

oh - for an idea of what the scales actually cost (from the manufacturer) - the below link is for the Homemaker SYE-2007D1 (as described by choice- and sold by kmart for $50)

thanks for the links togakure - watso has heaps of calories- as he needs the energy to ride the bike
calculations
12 nov.. bodyfat 26.6% .... weight 108.6kg
so bodyfat = 28.89kg
22 nov.. bodyfat= 24.1% .....weight=105.1kg
so bodyfat = 25.33kg
ie about 3.5kg difference - which is the weight loss - which as a guide, is heading in the right direction - which compares with (from one of the links)
"exercise or a combination of both, you will lose one pound of body weight. (On average 75% of this is fat, 25% lean tissue)"
apart from cycling, watso is doing a lot of gym work (free gym in the park) - so there is probably not much loss of lean tissue.
the cycling always ensures that watso has good blood pressure - just took a reading... 109/72
anyway, on the mid day news, there was a story about australia being the 4th most obese nation in the world
