Spoke to JW today. He returned from Singapore yesterday after convention. Others in Hong Kong also for convention. Which is about the limit of info he was prepared to reveal. Seems the J/V's are in the pipeline, but still no time frame. Again there's disclosure issues to consider. Quite a bit of interest in Elvie, so reading between the lines it seems Bob is playing hard ball with any J/V figures. There's no plans at this stage to obtain Australian operator status which I found quite surprising, due to it allowing a stronger negotiating position.
Interestingly JW remarked that the Chinese see shale gas as laughing gas. Give it 2 years and it's gone, so they are hesitant in relying on it. (The jury is out as to exactly what that means.)
