I have only one thing to add with talking to someone in a company.
Think what you are going to ask and how you are going to ask it. You want simple yes or no answers.
Like this, You state that you are going get X milestone by X time are you going to meet that, you want yes or no answer, not an answer stating we have a wonderful company we may do it if all goes to plan, that is not really answering your question.
