By reducing Somatic Cell Counts (white blood cells) in cows not only in Australasia, but in third world countries, we can increase the quality of milk and thereby decrease the dairy cow population and the associated costs of keeping millions of animals in those countries, this is turn will reduce the amount of stock feed required and increase the arable lands in third world countries, not to mention the lowering of greenhouse gases from the use of so many cattle.

This all may well be true in some ivory-tower world, but it isn't relevant to any real-world decision making process I am familiar with. Real-world decision making as to MMA products will be made on the basis of dairy herd health and productivity and marginal value only. And thank goodness. All this other airy-fairy stuff has to imposed by people of a fascist mind-set using the force of the state and we can all do without that.

Can we not? (Not to get too far off the topic of the thread.)
