David - if you took the trouble to read - rather than just wanting to vent (or manipulate?) - you would have seen that Arrowsmith is not a 'second "pilot" well', but the initial 'pilot HORIZONTAL well'.

Which is what was always intended - IF the proof of concept well was successful (which apparently it is - which will hopefully be confirmed soon) and after the 3D seismic was completed (in order to pinpoint the most appropriate target for the INITIAL horizontal well.

In other words, the plan appears to be on track - albeit at a slower pace than many would desire.
