benitec/calimmune sydney presentation, page-32

I wanted to close off my (much) earlier post re: the missing Calimmune presentation in Sydney.

I spoke with the company yesterday and finally learned that a) Dr Geoff Symonds of Calimmune did in fact present in Sydney! b) that he presented nothing that was not already in the public domain (more of a technology overview than a focus on the HIV trial) and c) that despite an earlier commitment to share the presentation - Calimmune were not forthcoming in the agreed timeframe. I understand the presentation is still in the mail...and when it arrives it will be shared in line with the commitment the company made to shareholders.

It seems that Calimmune are an extremely reclusive company when it comes to sharing information regarding their clinical trial progress. All that was shared at the meeting re: the trial was that they had recruited and treated a small number of trial participants, and that the trial was proceeding to plan.

While the market may be wishing for immediate and positive news from Calimmune - the reality is that being a private company, they have the right to disclose what they want, when they want! Suspect Benitec management will be a little more guarded re: public disclosure relating to Callimmune progress in future. Too easy to come unstuck.

Beyond this matter, the company is obviously focussed on the imminent IND lodgement which will be announced once complete and a number of key related activities as Benitec moves into the clinic.
