And the Howard/Costello Federal Government had to contend with a multiple of problems during its tenure, and not just one. And inspite of these multitude of problems, it still managed to pass on a significant surplus to the subsequent Federal Labor Government, which, as is normal for Labor Governments, it immediately dissipated.
