this food security argument spouted by the Nationals and taken up by others is just such rubbish. When you examine the argument closely it just never holds any water. Do we think that just because we have a foreign owner of the Silos and railtracks that somehow we have lost control to a nasty foreigner who will shut off access to Australian farmers? really it is just such nationalist chest beating rubbish....or maybe we think that ADM will do what the US government says and shut down the industry so that US farmers can take market share? It is a total nonsense and has been exposed as such on many occasions.
Its pretty simple, you either accept that business is global and follows the prospect of returns or you believe in conspiracy theories such as the above.
