re: Ann: Update - Oil Licensing Round in the ... I think there is a massive chance Eyasi will be awarded. This question keeps coming up, so maybe a few people need to read some previous threads and DYOR.
Anyway,
This was an old article where "The three companies that submitted tenders in closed- bidding are Beach Energy Ltd. (BPT) and Swala Energy Ltd., both based in Australia, and U.K.-based Adamantine Energy Ltd"
source: http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2012-05-21/tanzania-to-choose-winner-of-eyasi-wembere-block-by-august-1-.html
note that it says they submitted tenders! The article is dates May 2012.
Ok, fast forward and now you have this
http://www.swala-energy.com/documents/2013-06 14ExclusivenegotiationsEyasi.pdf
So note that " pleased to announce that it has been invited into exclusive negotiations with the Tanzanian Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) for the award of a 32.5% interest in the Eyasi licence, onshore Northern Tanzania"
You now have it stated on the TPDC website itself.
"the Eyasi-Wembere Basin is under negotiation with a consortium of Swala Oil and Gas (Tanzania) Limited and Pura Vida Energy."
Source: http://www.tz-licensing-round.com/development/html/overview.html
So you see its gone from submitting a tender to being invited to exclusive negotiations in 2013, and also listed on a Tanzanian gov't website.
You couple this in with the private placement of $1.1 million by Dr Reginald Mengi who obviously hold a lot of sway through media, business contacts and through his chair of the TPSF board, which among other things looks to influence gov't policy then I would say we are a very good chance.
