the beauty of shares is that even after a bad day you can live to fight another day, you only lose when you sell!!!
most other forms of gambling are sudden death, eg the horse passes the post, the chips fall where they may, cards, pokies etc etc....
i guess speculative share trading isnt much different in some ways and usually far greater capital at stake.
