As a very proud Australian whose great, great grandparents emigrated to Australia as free settlers and whose offspring embraced people from every corner on Earth; I will not limply accept statements as outrageous as that about multiculturalism having failed citing one horrendous incident as proof.
Even two of last three PMs were born overseas and had families emigrate here as 'economic refugees'.
Nor will I label and demonise whole groups of people based on a single or for that matter even a series of such incidents.
Australia's wealth and cohesion today is in no small way due to the multicultural nature of our society. To assert otherwise and without comprehensive supporting documentation may air an opinion but it proves nothing.
