Over the last 12 months, I've given out a particular form that needs to be filled in, in the subjects own hand.
The people come from all walks of life and range from 18 years and up.
My instructions are simple. "Block letters please and make it legible." If they're under 35, I need to explain my instructions in very simple language. They're writing is atrocious and barely legible. Older people need no further instruction and complete the task in about a minute and it's clear and easily read.
This is not a one off, it's a daily occurrence. Young and dumb. sad but true.
My children all spent 30 minutes of every day of their young lives reading with me and doing basic maths. A lot of parents can't be bothered. Simple as that.
