Good article in the Weekend Fin Review titled "Lies, damned lies and lerps". Unfortunately I cannot reproduce as there is a pay wall.
Essentially some residents in the Darling Downs noticed a tacky residue on their cars and blamed a nearby Origin CSG well with all the normal alarmist blather.
So GHD (engineers and environmental science firm) was hired to find out the cause. The conclusion of the investigation was that the tacky residue was caused by an insect (lerp) but that made little difference to the residents who demanded that Origin cease activities or else pay to relocate all the residents to somewhere else.
What hope has CSG if the truth has no relevance?
