Sorry this was just a synical reference that it is better to have lots of data to process and analyse as opposed to results coming back blank.
This isn't directly how it works, while geomagnetic anomolies prolong the processing of data it still takes considerable time to match up satelite images with the geo survey (so that they don't send out a drill rig only to find a metal shed that they thought was graphite)
