Yes philh9, I agree it was definitely a surprise two years ago... and no reason given, other than the inferred reason that it was a useful strategic move and likely a necessary one given Scotty's diverse interests.
But Mac has been part of the AVB team and sadly takes that in-depth knowledge of the ins and outs of the company with him. Being employed by AVB's top managers, who no doubt would be very demanding, and surviving two years would be a shining star on any CV.. for sure.
Now is a critical time for AVB. A Company Secretary is a Key Role and I am not talking about the cute blonde who answers the phone and makes the coffee.
So having a Joint Arrangement means that if Scotty falls under a truck, or contracts malaria on a trip to Burma with Avenue Resources, there is a backup. I am all for understudies, and backups to take some of the load which statistically can produce local peaks that need to be dealt with.
It is also conceivable that due to what is coming up, the anticipated high mine-construction workload, it means that this job may be in fact upgraded. After all, there were complaints at the AGM about a lack of communication, so preparing regular updates from Company managers, drafting them on software, etc. all takes managerial time, and extra cost too.
So.. possibly the position may now be forseen as upgraded to a Full Time job, working in close collaboration with Scotty. Managers allocate human resources to jobs. They assess what is coming up and Anticipate. Oil in the machinery. They do not wait for the machinery to break down and then add the oil.
After all everyone wants AVB to grow... I suppose?
As for BR I have no idea what they would think, if anything at all. I would imagine they would have a list of critical dates and progress to those dates. Periodic reporting. Do whatever it takes in terms of contributing their own resources to meet those dates too.
Staffing matters I would believe would be left entirely up to the Company.
