It's pretty much standard practice actually and allows the company to move early on lining up a third party to step in if they see the shortfall as impeding progress.


Wild card would be if Amgen took it up - weights two ways though firstly is would be giving them a very cheap entry to a sub holding in the company but on the other side of the coin it ups the chances of eventually moving on the company or other candidates in the portfolio. Many of the big Mab deals come from companies where there is already a vested interest in the registry.
