If the project was relying on this, I would be very worried. The introduction of "bleeding edge" technology into a new mine in Africa would be considered high risk to say the least. However, it looks as if this is just more icing on the cake and is designed to quieten those concerned about contaminants. From what I can gather, the project works without this leaching process so there can only be upside from this and the only risk being a small amount of capital plus some R&D.
