We shouldn't complain. We all like different things and have the privilege of picking out the technology we like and not bothering about the rest.

With cars there is a new "must have" only once a decade IMHO. I have never listened to tapes or discs but need the radio. I'll admit the new keyless entry where you don't need to take your dongle out of your pocket [that's a 'puter term, stop snickering] is convenient but wouldn't give you two bob for the reversing camera. [no young kids or dumb dogs]

Mrs H will never drive a manual again and I have got used to automatic myself. Anti-lock breaking is a "must" and traction control good for the younger ones who tend to push, or who drive on icy roads. Seat belts have saved thousand of lives and I would feel naked driving without one. Air bags? Not sure they do much if your belt is on and you have pre-tensioners.

Covered a few decades there but there is room for steel belted radial, tubeless tyres. Best value for money there is.

Didn't someone say life is like a box of chocolates? You pick what you like.
