now I know what is wrong...the Tab is missing.

Tried the scotch tape thing...was very careful not to get any on the gold thingy but it did not work so must be protected as the guy said. It's a dick smith card.

But that ok as I will just go and buy a new one and take heaps of photos at Christmas....am so happy you posted that.
