"Maybe because for many centuries white people murdered, enslaved, oppressed and lynched black people."
..............................
I know it's being pedantic but the above is far from the whole story.
Blacks were captured and enslaved by other blacks then sold to whites. Africa has a long tradition of slavery. Do people think that white slavers would run around the African bush catching their own.....really?
Talking about the US, the first slaves were white but that seems to get forgotten along the way.
No one seems to ever remember how europeans were captured and sold into muslim slavery in north africa over a period of centuries.
It could sometimes be quite dangerous to live by the coast.
So it wasn't only blacks that suffered...
The question that this raises is why is one aspect of history forgotten when it happens to white people and forever remembered when it happens to someone else?
One possible answer is that it isn't about truth but using selective history as a weapon in the here and now all for political/economic purposes for certain groups who realise us whites are guilt junkies...
cheers
