As I said, I like a debate, and sometimes I stir the ABU HC forum pot just to see what comments I can get out of others.
You see I take the view, that the POG, or whether the Gold stocks or ABU are going to rise and fall, and of course the weather at Old Pirate, is totally out of our control, so what is destined to happen will happen! We can prophecise, and read the tea leaves of the "experts", but that ain't going to change market sentiment. Have the thousands of posts on the HC forums this year made any difference to the market, I don't think so!
But debating the issues does build knowledge and confidence in a stock. And certainly trend spotting is a great skill to have.
So back to the weather, in fact Rabbit Flat HASN'T stopped reporting the weather, it hasn't been washed away, it is still there!!!
Being a die hard fisherman, I can ferret out the weather details from Weather Zone, or the BOM website like you wouldn't believe!
Link 1 is for Rabbit Flat's 17 year rainfall average and includes this year's rainfall. Note that 102mm fell in November.
Link 2 is for Rabbit Flat's daily records. Rabbit flat had 3.2mm of rain yesterday (Monday), and 6.4mm rain Sunday.
Rabbit Flat is only 87km from Old Pirate which is pretty darn close, if you ask me, seeing it is out in the never never!
I was a little bit out with my previous rainfall for Old Pirate, the data below is for Rabbit Flat and averaged over 17 years. So OP would expect about 105mm in Jan and 98mm in Feb on average.
And for those who haven't seen OP from Google Earth the coordinates are:

Even though it is an old aerial photo, you can zoom in and clearly see at least 30 gridded trench type lines over a 7km distance, north, from the main camp.
And no matter if the heavens vent their wrath on OP, I have unwavering faith that this mine will deliver significant profits for the company and for the shareholders in the not too distant future!!!
