Dust is indeed correct that the Howard chickens are coming home to roost. Here is a man who fails to recognize a racially based incident when it stares him in the face. Ask yourself why? Because he has himself subtly fanned the flames of racism by fostering a climate of intolerance.
Those of us old enough to remember will hark back to happier days before the Howard era when he was reviled by most Australians for his racist comments about the Chinese. Here is a man who is basically an anglo saxon supremacist. He has failed to stand up for tolerance and has fostered an atmosphere of fear and suspicion to suit his own political purposes.
One man has irrevocably tarnished this country. If anyone should be chased down the streets by angry Australians it's John Winston Howard.
