Thats sorry state of affairs re only 8 days sick leave for registered nurses ... I would be an advocate of 10 days being mandated for all workers.
But to you and acorn, and any other interested souls out there, imagine the lift to national productivity if sick leave could somehow exclude the "aussie sickie" ... it could fund a bewildering array of social services and/or it could allow more aussie businesses to compete globally.
As it stands, employees taking frivolous sickies are having a lend of those that don't, just as smokers are having a lend of non smokers.
