If mines in Oz, great if A$ drops and best if gold goes up & USD goes up too, can happen. If mines oseas, their earnings in USD so good too. But costs rise here if A$ drops, ie diesel, & oseas if USD falls. If gold soars, doesn't matter unless USD tanks & A$ soars, then not so good but diesel & machinery cheaper. Best to have mines here & oseas. It's complex as there are gold, A$ & USD variables & mines here & oseas. In a gold panic, they all go into orbit!
