Agree with ur comments....so many good inventions start in Oz but short sighted ness sees them go overseas....
An example is....
The latest being a previous good manufacturing industry....started by forward thinking governments with vision to the future to have a small self reliance base in Oz...planned back in the 1950's...
Seems Oz could be left...exposed and reliant on cheaper impots....which can be be stopped in its tracks in a time of war or regional conflict...
No manufacturing base means no building of vehicles ...boats...guns...etc...when needed urgently....
With only agriculture and mining left behind...
