Think this is one of the sillier responses to the gang "warfare" of recent days. Apart from the very unlikely proposition that the human brain has evolved with wired in "sociopathic" abilities such as fanaticism and ideological extremism (An idea to which no self-respecting evolutionist or psychologist would put his or her name).
Or that somehow this brain has produced religion in it's own image thus developing a symbiotic relationship between the worst in humans and all religions.
Let me give you a lot simpler and more credible yarn on the brain. First up it's primarily a computer, with a few specialties, but that needs to be taught to speak, read, think and be inculcated with religion, racism and every other ism. That isn't the work of millions of years of evolution but begins at birth. The brain starts off pretty neutral (unless of course you want a dollop of original sin in the mix).
So what conclusions can we draw from this surprisingly simple little brain scenario. 1. It is possible to teach and train a child, so that it grows up to be a civil law abiding citizen. Most delinquent kids have delinquent parents. (There are exceptions to this rule such as when the brain is not wired properly, so it can no longer properly manage normal human emotions like anger).
2.When society runs into hoons who have probably missed out on 1 i.e. a decent parenting, there is no need to wait another million years for random evolutionary changes to improve those rotten lines that have a propensity to sociopathic behaviour.
All the state needs do is teach them by various means that not only is it not nice to give way to their "evolutionary intellectual inheritance" but it can be very costly in a variety of ways.
