What you are suggesting re declining claims breaks so many Corps Law (and other) regs it decries belief.

Further, which insurance unit do you propose they sell? At what price? To who?

There's no question the AXA transaction multiple was too high. And the insurance unit will continue to underperform. But your recommendations are overly simplistic. It is an industry wide issue at the moment.

The better long term solution, in my view, is finding more sustainable commission pricing structures for distribution partners. Doesn't take a genius to work out 7 years break even on average 4 year policy life is bad business. This is the real crux of the issue but nobody wants to move firsy.

BTW - who offers the highest commissions in the industry?

It should come as no surprise!
