I might just add:
- QHL's process takes .. what was it again, about 10-15 minutes per part? It's documented somewhere, whatever it is, that's much faster than several hours it takes to 3D print a component, size dependant of course.
- Leads me to the 2nd point, 3D printing has size limitations due to the size of the printer, QHL's process is aimed at components that are simply too large to 3D print, so it's like comparing apples with pears, but both technologies are developments in the aviation space that weren't taking place till about 5 or so years ago, the Boeing 787 dreamliner being the most popular example to come to mind with it's many composite components.
Lighter, cheaper & faster to maintain, more fuel efficient vehicles for road and air, this is a big market indeed :)
