Day traders are just that==day traders. Many buy and sell on the same day because they don't have the funds to settle but do have the funds to take a small loss. Many do. When a serious buyer appears they can do very well, if he doesn't they lose. I have known one such player for many years, he had to sell his home last year. Others may be buying McMansions. It's just the nature of the beast.
