The only thing that alters liquidity in stocks such as this is a price approaching 'fair value'. I have owned plenty of thinly traded stocks that started changing hands more regularly once they got to prices where it is hard for the average investor to be certain of undervalution. I would hazard for this stock, the price a which liquidity would arrive would be around the NTA mark. There is sufficient free float for a decent daily volume, but sustained success also can have a funny way of creating 'sticky' shareholders. I would hazard that if UOS were trading in the 75 - 85c range, daily volume would roughly triple.
For explanation, in 2012 average daily volume was 24,481 shares at an average price of 36.9cps. In in 2013 average daily volume was 56,154 shares at an average price of 50.3cps. The VWAP price grew 36.3% (which in my estimation was a good deal faster than the intrinsic value grew) when the traded price got closer to IV (though still far from said IV in my view) volume greatly increased. As I said, should the gap between price & IV close further this year, volume will further increase - Eternalgrowth
