That is correct, Geospud. I once did a modelling project for a well using the data from a nearby well. I was able to define a resource that allowed the well to be drilled. It was a success and the reservoir was almost exactly as I predicted. I was asked to give a lecture to the entire Houston exploration department about how I did it. That was some time ago and I am sure that things are far more advanced now. I also wrote a company paper on it but unfortunately did not keep a copy for myself as it was proprietary company property.
I would not be surprised that the JV used well data from the Dong Fang field to analyze the amplitudes in 105. If so, I think their predrill estimates should be pretty good for at least the extent of the reservoir. Gas composition is another thing.
