I know many think what barry o'farrell said regarding steroid use being a contributing factor to severity of violence is a cop out to appease hoteliers, but its about time this disaster befalling male youth is reigned in. It is seriously out of control. The human brain is not designed to operate in the environment that steroid use harbors, it makes young silly men big and dangerous, and renders their mood as unstable. Throw a few drinks in and its no wonder. How steroids are not policed or demonised to the same extent as other illicit drugs is beyond comprehension. You dont see marijuana stoners doing these things, its the narcissistic 'heroes' who need to justify there own existence by dominating others physically in the most cowardly way. They inject their way to physical armor to cover for their physical and psychological inadequacies and then take their angst out on others.I coach a sport which has had more than its fair share of cheats of this ilk, and weve seen them come and go. They are obviously different in a lot of cases, more aggressive, bigger, leaner, acne all over, and they stink to high hell. good riddance in all cases
Good on Barry for being brave enough to think outside the booze box. Its pretty obvious that the current methods arent working, so he sees the need to change tack.
