    Hi Dex,

With "Any discomfort Fats alludes must surely be relatively recent?", I think you're spot on.

I'm pretty old now, but have always tried to be unbiased, unprejudiced and non-judgmental and believe I mostly have achieved that.

However, in just the last year or so I'm seeing the Australia I've known developing pockets of difference in culture and attitude I've not seen before in Oz - and definitely do not like.

I'm in Brisbane and, by the nature of my current occupation, travel through the city and suburbs extensively and incessantly at least 5 days/week. In doing so, I see lots.

I don't believe I'm closed minded. I've traveled around the world, seen many countries and people and cultures, and have enjoyed experiencing each and every one of them. But I'm seeing something happening here at home, and I'm not talking about racism or bigotry, that is starting to concern me.

For mine, something with our society has started to change, in Brisbane at least, and I don't think it's good.

I'm probably just another bigotted, racist yobbo ... but I've tried to stay very circumspect with this post - so perhaps I'm not. -(:-D)

    cheers mate
