As an owner of firearms and someone that lives on a property yes i shoot feral animals and yes i'm on a hunting forum. Would i go to Africa and shoot an elephant or any large native for the sake of it? No, doesn't interest me, however if it is for food then i have no problem. The elephants that are shot are chosen for a reason whether it be population control or destroying problem animals (just like we cull roos)
I don't see or share their enjoyment however a lot of these people also take part in feral animal control and do a lot more for the native wildlife of this country than ANY green/trendy voter. And like you said the money they bring in does a lot for conservation.
