This contradiction is not only in Islam. I think it is in all religions which claim that God is omniscient and that we are given free will.

    Can someone reconcile that contradiction?
    -----------
Akgo01, God is omniscient in the sense that nothing is beyond his knowing or understanding if he so chooses.
There are Scriptural eg's of this.
(Genesis 18:20, 21) Then Jehovah said: “The cry of complaint against Sod'om and Go·mor'rah,is indeed great, and their sin is very heavy.?I will go down that I may see whether they are acting according to the outcry that has reached me. And if not, I can get to know it."
Also the Jews of Ezekiel's day had a proverb that suggested they were locked in to the consequences of their forefathers wrongdoing which Jehovah showed to be wrong.
(Ezekiel 18:1-4) And the word of Jehovah again came to me, saying: ?“What does it this proverb that you quote in the land of Israel mean,‘Fathers have eaten sour grapes, but the teeth of the sons are set on edge’? ?“‘As surely as I am alive,’declares the Sovereign Lord Jehovah, ‘you will not continue to quote this saying in Israel.?Look! All the souls—to me they belong. As the soul of the father so also the soul of the son—to me they belong. The soul who sins is the one who will die.
Hence we have the choice affecting our own future. Joshua 24:15
